An Albion press like the one used to print Wellington's first newspaper, the Evening Post (1865-2002), the actual press used is now part of the Museum's Collection. These are examples of three different letterpress founts, from the top down they are, Blackletter,Bookman Old Style and Tiranti Solid. Together they make up Bedplate's masthead. Strictly speaking they are computer generated versions (fonts) and are here combined into a gif image so as to make them available on the Web Johannes Gutenberg the inventor of movable type and founder of letterpress printing. An industry born.
